The Johannesburg Model United Nations (JoMUN) conference is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students role-play as diplomats to debate and solve global issues, such as human rights, peace, and the environment. Participants research a country’s position and engage in public speaking, negotiation, and writing resolutions that mirror real UN procedures. The goal is to learn about international relations, diplomacy, and the UN’s functioning while developing skills like public speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
