SWIMMING

About

Swimming is a dynamic and rewarding sport that builds discipline, resilience, and teamwork in student-athletes. Our program welcomes swimmers of all levels, from beginners developing foundational skills to experienced athletes refining advanced techniques and racing strategies.

The season includes structured daily practices focused on stroke development, endurance, speed work, turns, starts, and race preparation. Athletes compete in approximately six to seven galas throughout the season, typically one per week. These galas provide valuable racing experience, allow swimmers to track progress, and help build confidence under competitive conditions. Each event serves as preparation for Inter-High, where we compete against some of the top schools in the region.

In addition to physical training, we prioritize goal setting, time management, sportsmanship, and accountability. Safety remains paramount, with qualified coaching staff ensuring proper progression, injury prevention, and strict adherence to pool protocols.

Beyond competition, high school swimming fosters lifelong fitness habits and strong camaraderie. Leadership opportunities for senior swimmers and mentorship of younger athletes strengthen team unity. Success is measured not only by podium finishes, but by personal bests, resilience, character development, and pride in representing our school community at the highest level.
